PTA

Welcome to the Dorney School Parent-Teachers Association (PTA). We are a registered charity that fundraises with a variety of events during the school year to enhance the experiences of our children. Last year we helped the school purchase new books, IT equipment and assisted the gardening club.

We meet regularly at 7.30 pm at the Palmer Arms, Dorney. Dorney PTA have an open door policy and we welcome new faces, so why not pop along. Whether it’s being a committee member, suggestions for events, donations, occasional support, or matched funding from employers, all your help is greatly appreciated.

Any comments or suggestions for fundraising ideas can also be left in the PTA post box (situated at the back of the school on the wall opposite the bike shed) or email us at dorneyschoolpta@gmail.com.

FIREWORKS NIGHT!

big "Thank You" to everyone who came to Fireworks Night last Saturday. Despite the wet weather it was a brilliant evening packed with fun, laughs and lots of "oohs and ahhs" at the fantastic display and so nice to see the school community together. We are delighted to share the news that together we RAISED OVER £2000 for future school projects so well done to you all! It was so nice to see so many new faces in attendance and new volunteers so thanks to everyone who helped before, during and after event. We cannot do these events without you!

A complimentary Bag2School sack should be with you via pupil-mail but feel free to use any bags you have as all are accepted and the more bags the merrier as we are paid by weight so the more we donate, the more we raise for school projects!

PTA AGM INFORMATION

Dear Parent/Carer(s),

We would love to see you at the Dorney School PTA AGM!

Date: Wednesday 9th October 2019

Time: 8pm

Venue: Dorney School Hall

There is much to discuss including the successes of the past year and to get all our heads together of how we are going to raise money for important School projects through fundraising events in 2019/20.

Whether you already have Children in the School or this is your first year we are very welcome to anyone interested in finding out more by coming along.

As Dorney School life continues we will sadly be saying goodbye to some PTA members who've been so involved since their children were in Foundation and now it is time for them to head off to Secondary School. With this in mind,  we really do need you involved in the team and at events.

We totally understand that people’s time is limited but we hope that the Friends of Dorney initiatives will allow more people to give more when it suits them and make more use of parent skill sets.

We will cover:

1. Fund raising and events
2. Pastoral and teacher help
3. School premises and educational projects
4. Treasury Roles

5. Other fundraising avenues

Couple of reminders about other ways to fundraise...

CORPORATE DONATIONS...can your company make a donation for a special school project? If so, we would love to help make it happen so please get in touch!

GIVE AS YOU LIVE (Online Shopping)...Don't forget that when you shop online, if you register Dorney School as your charity of choice at 'Give A You Live' it's an incredibly easy way to boost extra funds without any extra costs to you. All the major sites and stores donate. Just imagine how much we could raise by end of year!

Thanks for your time and support,

Best wishes,
