'The Big Science Event' - visit the 'Gallery' page to see photographs

During our Dorney Science Week, the whole school took part in 'The Big Science Event' run by Science Oxford.  This is a child led investigation activity where children work in groups to investigate anything they would like to find out.

Each class chose three winners to enter and the winner was chosen by a team of judges. The winning team will now go through to the next round, a cluster judging by Science Oxford.

Apart from taking part in group activities, each child in the school was asked to research a scientist of their choice as a whole school, home learning task. The posters and models were displayed around the school and parents were invited to view the amazing work as well as the posters made for 'The Big Science Event' at the end of the day.

Children were working enthusiastically and the judges commented on how well they presented their findings and how confidently they spoke, using scientific vocabulary.

Well done to all the children for putting in so much thought and effort into your learning during our Science Week. We can’t wait to see what your next BIG QUESTIONS will be.
