Dorney School

The Little Village School with a Big Heart

Learning Disability week

Our school starts the week with Disability Awareness, and how the     misconceptions and stereotypes surrounding those with disabilities can be brought to the forefront. Our hope is for attitudes and behaviors to become more positive and impactful. We aim to dig deeper to create a better understanding of disability and inclusion.

Today, we welcome Ellise Howard, a young motivational speaker with cerebral palsy who is making a difference to education. Up next , we have Kat who will talk to the children about being wheelchair bound due to spinal trauma and last but not least, we will be visited by Millie Ann, a local actress and model with Down’s Syndrome who has already made a successful name for herself! We will also be talking about visible and invisible disability and what this may mean to people and how we can enable success for everyone.
