On Wednesday 29th September, we welcomed Lester Tanner, trustee at Maidenhead FoodShare into Dorney School to deliver a virtual assembly to all of the children and staff. The children listened beautifully and learned how the foodbank helps more than 300 people per week feed themselves and their families by providing nutritious foods including fresh and dried foods, fruits and vegetables. The children considered what it is like to feel hungry and reflected on the gratitude they would feel having a charity such as FoodShare available to help them if they needed. This is the third year Dorney school have donated our harvest collection to FoodShare and Lester communicated his heartfelt thanks to the children, which we hope they communicated to families at home. We are proud to know our generosity will make such a tremendous difference in our local community.
