Class 2

Welcome to Year 2!

A Little About Me

After growing up in Hertfordshire, and being involved in many volunteer projects with younger children, it was clear from an early age that teaching could be an excellent career choice for me. After qualifying in Cheltenham in 1996, I began my teaching career in Hertfordshire, and then later moved to Buckinghamshire where I continued to gain experience across the KS2 age range in various schools. I then juggled part time teaching with starting a family, and in 2010 I joined Dorney School, where in fact my two daughters were enjoying their education, or soon to be joining it! As my two daughters grew older (now older teenagers), I found I was teaching younger children, and have recently loved teaching Year 2 for the last 5 years! I love making teaching fun and thrive on helping all children in my class to make the biggest strides possible in their learning journey. Other roles within schools I have had, have been leading various subjects which seems to have gone full circle as I started off with my initial passions of PE and Science, moved on to subjects such as Computing and English and then returned to lead P.E. more recently at Dorney. Outside of the classroom, amongst a busy family life, I enjoy the countryside with our family dog, who definitely keeps us active and entertained. As a family we also love supporting Slough Town football club and look forward to returning once again to watch games in person and testing our general knowledge, or at times lack of it, in quizzes!
