Eco-Council

Welcome to the Eco Council page

Our Eco Council  started two years ago under the guidance of Mrs Strydom. They meet fortnightly to discuss matters arising and monitoring current projects. Each class has two representatives elected by their class members.

Battery Recycling

As part of our aim to be pioneer Eco warriors and help others understand the need for recycling, Dorney School has signed up to take part in The Big Battery Hunt. This initiative is the UK's biggest school battery recycling programme.

Each pupil has been given a box - can you help fill with used batteries! The deadline for bringing the boxes back to school is Thursday 11th April.

Warm regards,

Mrs E Strydom

Crisp Packet Recycling At Dorney School

We are very excited to announce that we are taking part in the Crisp Packet Recycling Scheme. Please send us your empty crisp packets to recycle!

The Eco Council turned into horticulturists this week when they each lent a hand to tend to the new bedding in the school entrance area. After each plant had been planted carefully, they were watered, and the soil neatly raked. The children are looking forward to adding more plants in the future as well as vermi-compost from our wormery.  (November 2018)
